Chi Nei Tsang massage in Geneva
Energetic massage of the internal organs of the belly
What is Chi Nei Tsang?
Chi Nei Tsang, often called Chinese belly massage, means ” working on the energy of the internal organs“. It is an energetic and reflexive belly massage that has been practised in China for over 4,000 years.
During Chi Nei Tsang treatment, the practitioner releases visceral tensions and stagnant emotions through a gentle yet deep touch of the abdominal area, producing many benefits.
Chi Nei Tsang massage is an effective and highly enjoyable method. Its benefits are felt from the very first session and have long-lasting effects.
The belly, our 2nd brain
Taoist monks in ancient China used Chi Nei Tsang to maintain good health, purify their minds and attain the highest levels of spirituality.
They considered the human body as being under the control of the abdominal brain (Tan Tienn) and, to a lesser extent, the cerebral brain.
In the West, the belly has been referred to in recent years as the 2nd brain. It contains over 200 million neurons, permanently connected to our main brain via the vagus nerve. These neurons produce 95% of our body’s serotonin. Also known as the “happiness hormone”, serotonin is involved in managing stress, anxiety and emotions in general.
According to traditional Chinese medicine, when stress, tension and negative emotions accumulate, they cause congestion in the navel area, abdomen and internal organs. The result is blocked energy and blood circulation.
How does a Chi Nei Tsang session work?
It is preferable not to have eaten a substantial meal in the 2 hours preceding the session.
First of all, the Chi Nei Tsang session begins with a discussion on your medical history and the identification of your needs.
Then you lie down, fully clothed, on the massage table. Only the abdominal area is uncovered.
Next, the practitioner will invite you to focus on your breathing to bring relaxation and increase the level of oxygen in your blood as well as the circulation of your energy (Chi).
Chi Nei Tsang massage lasts approximately one hour. Please allow 1h15 for the first session.
You’ll certainly feel a deep sense of relaxation, perhaps even a slight fatigue, followed by renewed energy.
It’s best to be able to take some time off to relax and make the most of the time you’ve given yourself.

How often should I practice Chi Nei Tsang?
The number and pace of sessions can vary according to your health and needs. The frequency can be defined more precisely after the first session.
Ideally, however, you should first have 3 sessions 3 weeks apart, then 3 sessions over the rest of the year, so that you’ve covered all your organs.
After that, it’s a good idea to have a preventive session, for example, one per season.
You can also use Le Chi Nei Tsang when you have a specific need, for example to accompany a detox, in anticipation of or following surgery, in preparation for exams, etc.
